Projects currently in the works:
I was asked (and am in the process of drafting the contract) to illustrate a children’s book! This is something that I’ve wanted to do for SO long, and not only is the timing perfect, but this book is gold.
I recently finished a new painting! Saint Elizabeth of Hungary. My mom used to read to us about the lives of the saints. It was really neat to re-discover this amazing saint. Saint Elizabeth has a moving story about selling her riches and using the money to feed the poor. This created tension with her husband’s family (the royal family). One day someone from the palace caught her giving out bread to the poor. They demanded that she show them what was in her cloak. As she pulled back her tunic, there was no longer bread underneath, but roses fell from her arms!
Saint Elizabeth of Hungary I don’t do much abstract art, but I had this burst of excitement to create a series of Easter art! (I will share soon!) I am three pieces in, and honestly, it was such a fun change of pace. Themes that I tried to capture: light breaking through the darkness, new life, restored hope, rebirth, the Holy Spirit.
A local parish auctioned off my custom art for their fundraising auction. I just reached out to the winning bidder, and I can’t wait to work with her to create a custom piece of art for her family.
I have received some incredibly encouraging messages from you all over the past couple of weeks. Thank you to those who have taken the time to respond to my emails and to share about your lives. I rarely doubt where I am and what I am doing, but I’m amazed that God continues to affirm it through you. That is a gift.
